Let Man Consider the Food He Eats
(Inspired by Qur’an 80:24)
What does it truly mean to eat with awareness, gratitude, and responsibility?
This cross-disciplinary expedition invites learners to explore the journey of food from soil to soul. Through inquiry, fieldwork, and creative expression, students investigate where their food comes from, how it is grown, processed, and distributed, and what this reveals about our relationship with the earth and each other. Grounded in the Qur’anic call to reflect, this project draws connections between faith, science, ethics, and stewardship.
Depending on age level, students might:
- Grow their own vegetables using regenerative methods
- Visit local farms and food markets
- Learn the ethics of halal and tayyib consumption
- Investigate global food systems and economic inequality
- Cook traditional meals and document family food stories
- Launch campaigns to reduce food waste or promote sustainable eating
This expedition nurtures critical thinking, collaboration, gratitude, and deep responsibility—bringing the classroom into the real world, and the world into the heart.
