Fellowship

The Mountain Youth Fellowship
Faith. Strength. Purpose.

The Mountain Youth Fellowship is a dynamic, youth-led programme for boys and girls aged 11–18, designed to nurture a generation grounded in the Qur’an, strong in character, and ready to lead with purpose.

Meeting every Friday from 7:00–8:30pm at Cambridge Islamic College, starting on 8 May 2026, the Fellowship offers a unique space where young people take the lead — shaping discussions, driving projects, and growing together. Adult mentors are present to guide, support, and inspire, allowing leadership and confidence to develop from within. Participants are organised into two sub-groups to ensure meaningful engagement: 11–14 years and 15–18 years.

At its heart, the programme is built on three core pillars:

  • Qur’an & Reflection – engaging deeply with the Qur’an as a source of guidance, encouraging thought, discussion, and personal transformation — through focused reflection on key passages, particularly Surah al-Fātiḥah and Juz ‘Amma, drawing out meaning, themes, and real-life application, alongside studying the Prophet ﷺ as the living embodiment of the Qur’an, exploring his character, actions, and example as a model to live by.
  • Health & Fitness – developing strength, discipline, and balanced living as essential qualities of a believer — through physical training such as fitness sessions and outdoor challenges, team sports that build resilience and teamwork, nutrition awareness to encourage healthy habits, and lifestyle routines that promote wellbeing, energy, and self-discipline.
  • Leadership & Projects – working on meaningful, youth-led initiatives that build skills, creativity, and real-world impact — from creative arts projects such as storytelling and media production, to engineering challenges like designing and building models, entrepreneurship ventures developing ideas and small businesses, and technology projects including coding, robotics, and digital innovation.

Beyond the weekly sessions, the journey continues through residentials, outdoor adventures, and special interest visits, creating opportunities to challenge oneself, build lasting friendships, and experience growth beyond the classroom. (See details of the upcoming residential below.)

A distinctive feature of the programme is its diverse mentorship, drawing on professionals, scholars, entrepreneurs, sports/fitness people, and university students who bring real-world experience, insight, and inspiration. (Lead Mentor: Faisal Khaffar)

The programme is offered at a membership fee of £19 per month per young person, making it both accessible and high impact. If any family has difficulty covering the full fee, support is available — please do not hesitate to get in touch.

The Mountain Youth Fellowship is more than a weekly session — it is a training ground for future leaders, where young people are trusted to rise, supported to grow, and inspired to live with purpose.
